Fast forward a couple years later and I remember Jeremy asking me one day at lunch (okay, I admit, we were eating McD’s) if I could keep a secret. Now… this was some serious trust since at the office everyone always knew that I knew everything! Plus, when it comes to my own personal stuff, I’m not very good at keeping secrets, but secrets that aren’t mine to tell I’m good at keeping! Jer must have known this because he told me he was going to propose to Natasha! He told me his huge plan how he was going to propose on their trip to Mexico that winter. Once he did and he got back to share the news, there was quite a few surprised faces that I managed to keep it a secret! Sheeesh!

So last summer once Jeremy and Natasha told me that they would be getting married in August 2013, they asked me if I would be willing to photograph their wedding. I was soo happy they asked and now here we are with their engagement session in prep for their Aug wedding!

We shot at the lovely Government House on the very first day the weather decided to get hot! Thankfully we were in Victoria else I think I would have melted. :) Here’s a few of my favourites.

Alan & Sophansa met up with me last summer to book their July 2013 wedding, and instantly we connected. I love their humour and laid back personalities. Over the last year I’ve loved getting to know these two through instagram, a few hangouts and emails. We got together a few weeks ago and did their engagement session which was AWESOME. Not only did we get some great shots, we had time to just hang out. You can definitely see the connection these two have and I cannot wait to photograph their upcoming wedding at my absolutely most favourite Victoria venue: Hatley Castle!

I’m so happy with the way they turned out and it’s a bit bittersweet since it makes me miss the island. Anyway, I thought I’d share her great work and I’m so excited she’ll be second shooting with me in April! :) Thanks again Nichole. <3

So I went to a Vancouver Dachshund Meetup for the first time with her since Dachshunds have a strong connection with other Dachshunds, and I’m trying to socialize Farfel better. Since we moved away from Victoria she doesn’t have any regular dog interaction and she’s a bit too shy for my liking now. Anyway, even if you’re not a huge dachshund fan, it’s pretty funny to see about 30 of them running around at once. I can’t wait until the next one and I hope to make this a regular posting of cuteness to round out the blog a bit.

I met Darren a few years back in Chilliwack, and honestly the last time I think I saw him (before booking me) was helping load up my moving truck in Abbotsford to move to the island. That was over 3 years ago! Anyway, luckily we had kept in touch over the years through Facebook and he had liked my photography page shortly after I had even launched it. He was following my work throughout the years, which I knew, but when I found out that he had met the ever beautiful (and friendly) Jeana, and eventually proposed that they BOTH had been following my work pretty closely. They said they definitely wanted me to shoot their wedding, so when I was asked lasted November I was so happy to say yes! At this point I hadn’t even decided to move back to the mainland, but I always looking for an excuse to come back, so it worked out great.

This was the LONGEST engagement session I’ve ever done, but it was so much fun and definitely more the direction I want to go with my couples. It gave us a really good chance to just hang out, take some pictures and really see the amazing connection these two have, not to mention the amount of love oozing from them in every moment. I can’t wait for their Minter Gardens wedding in May! Anyway, this is a big post but it’s just a small sampling of all the photos including a few of my favourites. :)

Some of you already know if you’re friends with me on Facebook or even if you’ve already seen the ‘signs’. But… I’m moving to the mainland! After some very difficult and tough choices, I’ve decided that I want to be closer to my family and also have a bit more personal growth opportunity throughout the Fraser Valley and Lower Mainland. I’ve decided to set up base in Walnut Grove (an area of Langley) and can’t wait to start working with all the fabulous people in this area. I know LOTS of people on the mainland so I’m hoping all of you will help me get established over there.

I’m going to miss Victoria so much, especially all the friends I’ve made and clients I’ve fostered excellent relationships with. I’m going to miss the ocean, fresh air and beautiful everyday sights!

So what does this mean for current clients? If you have a wedding, or want to book me for a wedding I will STILL be fully servicing Victoria and Vancouver Island. It IS only a ferry ride away of course. I will also be announcing in advance when I’m on the island and am available for any portrait sessions. I might even come over for a day of mini sessions in the fall. :)

I hope you guys are happy for me if you’re on the island and keep in touch, not to mention still keep those wedding requests coming! If you’re a mainland person, I can’t wait to finally have easy access for all portrait and wedding photography.
